India is the land of philosophies. History shows that there are generations who argued for and against one others philosophical principles. There are lots of Literary references about this. Tholkaappiyam, one of the foremost text in Tamil also discusses about these philosophical refutations. During the domination of Jainism and Buddhism in Tamil religious and philosophical activities, Devara Moovar took a stand against them and establish Shaivism. Their Verses in Devaram promotes their refutation of Jainism and Buddhism to the people of Tamilnadu. Because of their constant travel and conversation, Jainism and Buddhism gradually began to decline from Tamil minds. Their verses revealed that they have tried many techniques to refuse and criticize their philosophy.
